Hello,
Week 32 was fairly routine for us. We did watch a fair bit of the Olympics, but I am also glad that they are finished now – back to regular viewing ๐ – one of my cards reflects this conflict.
I used a Week 5 Mini Kit from my favourite scrap shop Polka Dot Creative. It tones in well with the photos and I like the overall look quite a bit. These kits are a great way for me to get a bit more creative with my layouts.
Here is the open page:
The left side:
The right side:
The title card:
Mama bird & baby bird.
My hot date with a cute babe (and his mother and our friend). My girl.
Cute embellishments from the kit.
What my night shifts often look like – emergency c/sections or downtime in the tea room. This little baby is only about 2 minutes old. His parents forgot their camera so I snapped a few and sent them on. His name is Jack.
The beginning of getting organised. I have started with Paige’s toys. There is a very long way to go.
A Wotwot revival is happening at our place.
My Olympic conflict – loved watching it, glad it is over now. ๐
Found the Olympic card on Pinterest. Still loving my Picturemate Printer.
This week I also have done up a small insert to commemorate the landing of the Rover Curiosity on Mars – I found the whole thing amazing. The page protector is a Mix & Match from Simple Stories – perfect for a small insert – fits well into my WRMK album.
And another small insert for the Olympics:
And the 3rd insert is some “art” that came home from daycare. I have put the photo inserts on either side of the painting:
So that was our week. Hope you had a good one. Please leave me a comment if you have any feedback.
Thanks for looking and see you next time ๐

You did such a great job covering the Olympics. We didn’t watch much (gasp) because we don’t get TV, just not the same to read the news coverage. Love your pages.

Love the type around Bolt & love the fact that you used different colours too. Can I ask what font that is?
sharon71 said:
Hi Petra. I use a font called “Another Typewriter”, I use it almost exclusively on all of my PL photos, cards etc.
Thanks for dropping by ๐

Thanks ๐ And I REALLY want to, but I’ve gotten all lazy and journalling on line seems to have captured me too. Do I do both?? Argh!!

Just start printing out your photos and putting them in the book. The rest will come – that’s what I did. I’ve never done anything like this before . I do find that blogging each week keeps me up to date. Good luck!

I โฅ how you incorporated the Olympics into your PL spread, along w/ the landing on Mars. That’s neat how you put the text on the pic of Usain Bolt to show why he’s so incredible. Stats like that always fascinate me.

Thanks Lisa, I like to include some current events in our PL. It might be interesting in the future to look back and see what was news. Thanks for dropping by. ๐
